Riders may set off any time between 0900 and 1000 hours.

Now in it's fourth year, the 2011 Preseli Angel gives you the
opportunity to ride some of the quietest, most scenic and most
challenging roads in west Wales. If you like stunning views,
tough climbs and quiet back roads, this is the one for you.

We will be putting up some proper route mapping info and more detailed
instructions later, but in the meantime, our narratives of the
routes should be enough to be getting on with. The event consists
of two separate loops, as follows:
Loop 1 Loop 2
Riders attempting the 47m route just need to ride loop 1 - you can
forget about loop 2. However, riders attempting the 86m route (ie
both loops) must first complete the 47m route before they can proceed
onto the second loop - otherwise, you will not hit the full distance
and your time will be way off the mark. That might sound like an
obvious thing to say, but part of loop 2 runs across some of the same
roads as the final few miles of loop 1, so you may see signs for
both routes at some junctions. To avoid confusion, simply
complete the 47-miler first, before proceeding on to the next loop.
The only reason you should be on loop 2 is if you have already completed loop 1.
You will know when you have completed loop 1, because someone in
a hi-viz jacket will say to you, "You
have completed loop 1." Stop me if I'm going on a bit
here.....
HQ and signing-on for the 2011 event will be Newport Boat Club, The
Parrog, Newport, Pembs - the same general location as last year's
event, but we've upgraded from a marquee on the field to the luxurious
surroundings of Newport's Boat Club, where showers & changing rooms
are available, as well hot food and drinks. A huge thankyou to
the Boat Club committee, for kindly allowing us access to their
facilities.
