Llangrannog sur La Mer

The Peloton formed up outside the old Post Office in Cenarth today, unusally the cafe of choice has already been decided - surely a first for a VT ride????? The pre-ride banter was up to the usually standard - Dr L's new Zipp wheels drawing lots of appreciative looks and no indiscreet questions about how much they cost!! The red wheels trim matched today's Italian thoroughbred of choice and the Castelli ensemble but the yellow valve caps clashed somewhat but hey!

El Presidente was particularly Tigger like today so after seeking the professional opinion of both GPs present, the Club Sec was asked to send a Memo to Mrs D asking her not to give Graham any Honey Vinegar before a club ride in the future. The first few miles passed without incident, then it started... Firstly, the invincible 650b's of Mr H's steel stead had an altercation with a pot hole or something. Having restarted, next up was Dr L who had an altercation with a wasp - after much undocterly like language, the peloton set off again. Aberporth was the scene of once in a lifetime experience - Mr H, renown for his encyclopaedic knowledge of Welsh roads missed the turn to Tresaith!! The Peloton took full advantage but still Mr H took the honours at the top of the cheeky little hill out of the village. Beyond Penmorfa, the Peloton split - the Chairman tried to use his veto to prevent a splinter group taking the sporting direct route via St Grannog's statue but it was to no avail!!!!! The Peloton reformed at the beachside cafe. Refreshments were taken and banter was mixed with in-depth political commentary. The ride home was without incident save for an eminent local GP who rode off the front of the Peloton and past the required left turn! The Peleton reformed at Brynhoffnant for a spirited dash to Rhydlewis, Henllan and finally Cenarth.
