John (fresh from running on Lanzarote) and Jayne (almost fresh from cycling and wine tasting in Croatia) accompanied by Rob, Ian and David (who was tempted away from Pembrokeshire Wheelers this weekend) departed Crymych, Preseli bound and with great speed. David put his e-bike through its paces in a very spritely manner and Jayney wondered if this was soon to be her future on an e-bike (nah not yet!) Crossing the ford and following the lane that brought the riders out at the cattle grid at the base of the climb, the riders ploughed their way up to the top amidst (almost)searing heat. A pleasant sweep down the other side and left towards Rosebush at the New Inn. A new cafe in Maenclochog with a brilliant red wall was the big attraction, fortunately providing excellent coffee and cake. It was frequented by other cyclists so was obviously popular. The return route took the riders on the lower road towards Crymych and a left, taking the riders up onto the well liked lane past the Dolmens and finally back to Crymych.
