A Goldie Locks Day

Neither too sunny, too cloudy, too cold or too hot - a lovely day for a ride as agreed by John, Jayne and Len as they left Crymych. Riding towards Hermon and several right turns later they crossed at Pentre Galar and headed across twisty up and down lowlands towards Mynachlog ddu. Taking a turn towards a lane south of the dolmens, the riders headed towards the very popular Cafe Sgwar at Maenclochog. A real gem, the cafe is a good place for cyclists, bikers, walkers and many others and although busy, the staff were very pleasant. The 3 riders hit upon the idea of making this cafe a good place for both social, antisocial and any other riders to meet up at an agreed time. Something to be discussed. The return trip was taken along the 'upper' very pretty lane past the the dolmens and back to Crymych.

'Another lovely day for a ride'

John, Jayne, Len and Ian departed Cenarth towards the Nags head. Inspite of last weekend's flooding, the ride up the Cych valley was dry and the leaf fall that turns to mush had not yet taken place on the roads. Past old mills and tiny cottages the riders took on the steep hairpin at Cwm Morgan (Jayney deciding to walk.)Proceeding up towards Black Oak farm they said goodbye to Ian who had to be elsewhere soon. More climbing before taking the B road and turning to 5 roads. The' boneshaker' lane was taken through Cwmpengraig and Drefach Velindre causing numb fingers and as the woollen mill was shut the riders took delicious coffee and cake at the Emlyn Arms.
